James Franco

Not one to shy away from controversy, James Franco is always having his sexuality questioned as he often plays gay characters.

 

 

 

 

Franco creates films that go deeper than – as he calls it – the “straight, heteronormative stories in our movies, our shows, our commercials – everywhere. I think it’s healthy to make work that disrupts and questions that, and shows alternative narratives. That’s what an artist should do.”

He starred alongside his friend Seth Rogen in his apocalyptic comedy film This Is The End, which poked fun at the questions around Franco’s sexuality – the photo below is a piece of artwork in Franco’s house in the film. Good on him for having a sense of humour about it!

Just to confuse the issue even more, Franco said in interview that “I like to think that I’m gay in my art and straight in my life. Although, I’m also a gay in my life up to the point of intercourse, and then you could say I’m straight… If it means whom you have sex with, I guess I’m straight.” Err…..right, that clears things up ‘I guess’.
