The subject must lay there and accept all the attention (you’ve been zapped by a paralysing ray gun or something!). If aliens are too weird, try mystical tribespeople or mysterious druids. Either way, the goal is to learn what makes a human tick. Or tremble. Or spasm in ecstasy.
