Let’s celebrate being bisexual today!
Since 1999, September 23rd has been labelled Bisexual Visibility day, where those that bat for both teams (so to speak) are celebrated and awareness of the issues faced by bisexuals is spread. From a swinging perspective, bisexuals have it all! The bisexual female in particular is coveted by both swinging couples and other singles – they’re also applauded in hetero circles with the ‘two women’ fantasy being a common one for many straight males.
Bisexuals of both genders appear to be the ideal person/couple to look for when searching for some bedroom fun -in theory, a bisexual person or couple will be satisfied with whatever they find, provided the attraction is there. To a lot of people, hearing “I’m bisexual” is the same as saying “I’m up for anything” but in reality, bisexuals still have standards and won’t just settle for anything because gender is irrelevant.
Male bisexuality isn’t yet met with the same enthusiasm in the heterosexual world, and definitely not at the same comfort level. It still has a stigma attached to it even with swinging circles. Heterosexual males seem to believe that any man that is attracted to other men will be coveting their junk, again with that ‘I’m up for anything” mentality coming into play..It might make them question their own sexuality. Some might be curious about having a male-on-male experience but fret over whether this means that they are bi, or – in their mind- even worse, gay. Being curious about your sexuality and experimenting is a healthy expression of our desires and a way of growing sexually – and sexual open-mindedness (or at the very least acceptance and tolerance) is particularly important in swinging circles.

Let’s put our guards down and look genuinely at our attractions and let the good times roll – why limit ourselves?

Understandable. However, if someone of the same sex expresses their attraction to you and you do not feeling the same just let them know that you’re flattered in a polite way and truly take it as a compliment – don’t spoil someone else’s night, and above all else, always be open minded and have fun!
